New Swiss Views is a photographic journey across the Swiss landscape that presents a series of photographs taken from inside mosque prayer rooms across Switzerland. Made over the course of two road trips the book offers a fresh perspective on the national landscape and the Swiss Muslim community.

In this striking photographic typology, Marwan Bassiouni captures views through mosque windows, looking outward toward the surrounding environment. Rather than focusing on architecture, he turns his lens to the landscapes that quietly shape national identity—industrial outskirts, alpine peaks, rural towns, and urban districts. By repeating the gesture of photographing through windows, Bassiouni creates a visual rhythm that reflects the diversity of Switzerland’s geography and the presence of Muslim communities within it.
