About the photograph:
This is not AI generated but a photograph of a view from inside a British mosque 🕌. At the end of a January afternoon in 2022 I captured this image while in Birmingham during my first trip photographing for the ongoing project ‘New British Views’ (2021–2024). It shows a view on a large mural adorning the backside of a neighbouring residential home. This impressive mural expresses a message of solidarity while depicting Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem and quoting several excerpts from the Quran and a well-known statement by Nelson Mandela. In the background several other residential homes can also be seen.
